FM Crop Tops Info
Mesh Smoothing:
I`ve preset the Mesh Smoothing (Paramters/Mesh Smoothing) to 1, it`s lowest value.
That`s good to preserve the original shape of the Crop Tops on supported shapes, but can give unpleasant results on unsupported shapes.
So, if you use a bodyshape vastly different from Genesis 8 Female or Victoria 8, you will most likely want to up the Smoothing Iterations.
I`d say “as little as possible, as much as needed” as general rule of thumb.
It can also be used to smooth out probably unwanted fine detail like muscles.
dForce:
I think in general the Crop Tops work quite well with dForce, I`ve certainly seen stuff more sensitive to issues like exploding meshes.
However, if you work with dForce you know those things can always happen, so here`s 3 tips:
– Under “Simulation Settings” it`s always worth switching “Start Bones From Memorized Pose” around.
– On The Crop Tops, you can try higher values on the “Expand All” Morph.
– With the Crop Top (01, 04, 06) selected, you can try applying the included “Light” preset.
Expand All Morph:
The Crop Tops load with Expand All set to 2%. So they are modeled a bit tighter to the skin.
If you want you can try setting it to 0 and see if it works with your shape / pose.
Materials Color Customization:
Just a quick tip, if you want to customize colors, use the white material as starting point.
In most cases you can even keep the white diffuse texture.
Info:
– The material structure mostly comes from the Bump Map
– Seams and some smaller folds come from the Normal (Iray) or Displacement (3Delight) Map.
Known 3Delight issue:
High values on the “Wavey” Morph can cause ugly shading issues when rendering with 3Delight, mostly on Crop Top 06.
Of course it`s more noticeable with short camera distances.
Either way, be careful raising the value for this Morph when working with 3Delight.
